DISNEYLAND: The Movie!

Here's proof positive that Disneyland was truly art directed as a film you would traverse. Every angle was approached from the point of view of a cinematographer.

Actually, from a layout artist's POV in animation.
This beautiful 1956 shot is of the early 'Fantasy of Disneyland' Shop in the Fantasyland Courtyard. This soon became the 'Tinkerbell Toy Shop'.

The view is from the tunnel exit leading from Tomorrowland's side of the Hub through a Sleeping Beauty Castle turret.

...Purty, ain't it?

Was that turned into Disneyland's Villain shop later? If not, do you have a purty photo of it?

dom..

the villian shop (which was very neat) would've been to the immediate right of the shot on this side of the courtyard.

don't know what's there now but the villian shop was a teriffic idea they should bring back.

curses...

I was always interested in the tiny window above the archway. Don't know why... I guess because it had shutters on it. This is indeed a beautiful photograph.

Where is everyone? The killer strollers? The slobs gnawing on turkey legs? The 500-pound guests careening around on electric carts? Great shot Jordan!
