Waiting for Pirates To Open...
Here's a pic of the entrance to the highly anticipated,
Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in late 1966.
Disneyland was careful to start a building's exterior
construction first on new attractions. This way there wouldn't be huge plywood walls ruining the atmosphere
in areas of the park. Also, this heightened the anticipation for visiting guests so they would return.
That would be a nice feature today...
Here's a neat Main Gate flyer for Pirates soon after opening day.
Amazing, the great effort Disneyland went to in advertising new attractions once you were already in the park.

In its slimplicity, this rare flyer must have been incredibly effective in 1967. It still is today...even without Jack Sparrow!
